Having lived in London sine 2002, I was attending 3-4 gigs a week, most of them the most amazing intimate gigs of our very own home-grown South African talent! These SA artists, either flown in from South Africa or based in London and giving their music a bash in the Big Smoke, were often under-marketed and as is so common with South Africans, the overwhelming option of what to do in London every night can overshadow the immense talent of our very own SA music scene.
I wanted to create a gig guide platform for fellow South African Londonites - as well as a platform to promote South African artists through write-ups, interviews and reviews.
The blog has changed over the years in that I have become more transient - moving between South Africa and London - and so I have internally tussled with the title - and intent - of the blog 'SA Music in London'...
But its intent has always been simple. To promote South African music and make sure the world knows about the amazing talent and passionate outputs our country is producing.
The blog will always continue to do just that. I shall continue to bring you insights and updates on the incredible music coming out of South Africa - and aim to inspire and excite you to click through to a music video or website so you can carry on exploring SA music for yourself...
Rock on SA music!

ps. Would love to hear of any SA bands, singer songwriters or other who I should know about... or if you have something to say, send me a write-up and I will happily add a guest post about a different genre (dance / electronic / kwaito etc)!
