Live and in my lounge...

Well, technically speaking it was our kitchen... intimately cosy with couch and red wine, we sat around our very own personal musician.
A musician on a mission. Live in 'The Mansion' for one night only. And to an audience of six of us, with personal requests, sing-a-longs and foot tapping...

Ryan Koriya, with recently released album in toe, was live and intimately in our kitchen to launch another exciting project called 'Im coming to your place...'

Which is what he literally did. He arrived. We all chatted. Then we all ate (leftovers from Sunday roast). We organised varying bedside lamps for the ultimate atmosphere. He sat on a stool. Picked up his guitar. And we listened. Mesmerised. A moment for memory banks!

Opening with David Gray Babylon which was my coming-to-London headspace song, to classics of U2 with or without you, Tom Petty Free Falling - and then some fascinating covers of Rihanna Umbrella, Bon Iver Flume and Damien Rice Blowers Daughter! He played two of his own - quickly becoming Ryan's most requested self-penned track 'Wish' as well as a very new one called 'Dark Days' which is not even on the latest album outputted only a few weeks ago!

And ending with a phenomenal duo part creation of another Damien Rice track - 9 Crimes. His current recorded version of this has had nearly 20,000 hits off his MySpace! Now that says something!

Oh yes - and the reason behind all this - is that he brought a video camera and we were recording him singing... soon to be on a YouTube channel near you! Watch this space!

And this exciting album - known as The Demonstration EP by Ryan Koriya - is going to be online from today for the first time!

Rock on intimate artist experiences - esp in The Mansion,
x
